Yes, drinking beer does keep you warmer. Boston also has some great breweries that every Bostonian should visit and the winter weekends are a perfect time do it. A typical tour concludes with some complimentary beers which is always welcome!
Here are a few well-known local brewerys you should visit..and some less well-known ones:

Alpine (Downhill) Skiing!
Folks, skiing is the biggest New England winter activity around. Not only is it good exercise, but it is the most social sport you could participate in!
The sport itself is very challenging but fun and like no other. Maybe more importantly is that after several hours of skiing, you are entitled to drink a minimum a couple beers to celebrate your hard work and braving of the cold, windy New England climate.
There are some great spots to ski in New England that have not only good trails, but bars in the lodges and lots of bars and restaurants in the local town. Here are some links to check out:

Winters in New England Can Be Long and Cooolldd..What Is There To Do Besides Sitting at Home Next to Your Radiator???
Hello - Thanks for visiting my blog!
It's taken me over 10 years as a New England-er to figure out that there are plenty of fun and interesting activites outside of your home, apt, office to pass the time..you just have to know where to look!
Most of these pack a 1-2 punch (I love sports analogies) in that they also provide opportunities to meet new people if that appeals to you. Keep reading and please let me know if I've left anything off the list!
